This nutrient will always be important to obtain primarily from the diet.

Fish oil is a natural source of polyunsaturated fatty acids such as long-chain omega-3s, including DHA and EPA. Polyunsaturated fatty acids are considered essential nutrients because the human body cannot produce them in significant quantities.

Omega-3 fats have been the focus of a great deal of research on exercise, cardiovascular health, and cognitive performance. They are known to be incorporated into cell membranes, decrease inflammation, and improve immune health and cognitive function, which has an effect on performance and health.

When we train, we experience microstructural damage; one of the natural responses is inflammation within the muscle, which promotes adaptations that strengthen the muscle and make it more resistant to injury. While some inflammation can be essential for normal adaptation to training, too much inflammation can impair or delay the muscle's ability to recover after exercise. 

Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties. DHA and EPA decrease the expression of inflammatory cytokines by leukocytes and also give rise to a family of anti-inflammatory mediators called resolvins. Omega-3 also has a significant impact on lowering triglyceride levels and reducing cardiovascular risk.

Vitamin E is considered an excellent antioxidant with multiple functions. When combined with Omega-3, it protects it from oxidation and works synergistically to enhance its effects.

Ideally, you should get OMEGA 3 from food, but when that's not possible, consuming 2 to 3 grams of fish oil daily becomes necessary.

Taking 2 capsules of OMEGA 3 with lunch is a good option, and it provides you with 2 grams of OMEGA 3, supplying 600 mg of EPA/DHA.
